Keeper Of The Zodiac Gate


In the land of Kelmahar where fairies dwell...
War is here.

The Tyrant God-King Amarnath, is laying waste to all in his path.
His son Dimitrios, though young still, is showing signs of being even more evil than his father.

300 years ago Amarnath laid waste to a small fairy kingdom ruled by Princess Sonja.
He killed almost everyone, including the Princess but left a spell on her to keep her spirit bound,
never to cross over. Princess Sonja had a handmaiden named Libitina who the God-King lusted over
and took her as his own most prized slave.

For these last 300 years he has kept her for his self, killing any who dare to even look at her.
But he is getting restless and seeks to overtake more kingdoms.

He has sent his son on missions for him and the last was a major success, so much that Amarnath
has made a very startling decision. He has decided to give his prized slave girl to his son to marry.

What Amarnath does not know, is that for a very long time now, Dimitrios has been sneaking behind
his fathers back and raping Libitina at every chance he gets. He is ruthless with her and if he
were to have her to himself alone, it is unimaginable what he would do.

The announcements made, Libitina knows what true terror really is, for the God-King never hurt her.

The day of the wedding Libitina knows she must do anything to stop it happening.

Alone in her room, she knows Dimitrios will come before the ceremony to do what he does best.
Instead of donning her wedding robes, she dresses in the traditional way of her people from
300 years ago. Kept by the God-King from when he captured her but never locked away, to remind her
of how inferior they had been.
Black for stealth, chains for combat, and mask for striking fear in the heart of the enemy.
She fashions a weapon from a metal binding on a trunk.

She waits behind the door, crouched and silent. Knowing she will have to act very fast or all will be
ruined and she will undoubtedly be killed on the spot.

She doesn’t have to wait long, the door opens and she knows instantly it is Dimitrios, she can smell
the evil emanating from him.

Quick as an arrow she lunges at him and plunges her makeshift weapon deep in to his heart.
He falls without a sound and for a brief moment Libitina feels like she is home, free as she had
been 300 years before.

But what she did not expect was for the God-Kind Amarnath to be with his son.
He witnesses the whole thing and after a moment of stunned silence he points his staff at Libitina
and utters a curse, lightning in a myriad of colors shoots from the staff and hits her squarely in
the face and she knows no more.

She wakes to find herself on a small island with a glowing doorway with runes of the Zodiac around its frame.
there are bones and black gravel beneath her and when her head fully clears she remembers what she has done
and the curse the God-King placed on her.

"Death shall come but pass over you may not,
To the Gates of the Zodiac I send you,
One thousand years you are bound,
To greet those who shall pass."

And so, for the next 1000 years Libitina will welcome those who pass from the living world and usher them
to the other side, the side that she will never see, never feel comfort from for in 1000 years her soul
will be torn asunder and she will exist no more.
